Every Member a Minister All members are encouraged to become involved in a Ministry Team. These teams serve the church and local communities in various ways using the gifts, skills and time that team members have available. Following are the ministry areas currently provided by the MECC. Although ministry is not limited to these areas, they do provide a variety of opportunities for participation.
Cell Group Ministry Team This ministry team is responsible for the provision of Saturday morning programs for children, as well as regular activities for children in the community. Activities include playgroups, holiday programs and special events for children. Community Events Ministry Team An important part of community development is the provision of events that bring people together for activities that are fun, relevant, interesting and inclusive. Events and activities designed and run by MECC will add value to families and individuals in the community. These events include the Rouse Hill Regional Carols By Candlelight, street BBQ’s and Family Fun Days in the Park. Events are often run in partnership with other community groups and organisations. Education & Training Ministry TeamThis ministry gives members of MECC and the broader community the opportunity of participating in a formal process of learning in areas such as biblical studies, ministry training and life skills. The curriculum has been designed to enable participants to pursue a learning track and receive a certificate acknowledging their learning. Learning tracks will include a broad range of areas of biblical study, and will provide education at all levels of spiritual maturity and biblical knowledge. The Education & Training program is the primary teaching area of church life. People interested in Christianity as well as new converts are encouraged to utilise the Education & Training programs to gain knowledge. The Education & Training program is run on Saturday mornings. In the future there may be the opportunity to provide courses through the mail or internet giving flexible learning options. Hospitality Ministry Team The team provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere at all church run activities and events. This involves ensuring that every point of contact with MECC is a positive one where members of the church and community feel respected, recognised and cared for. Hospitality includes follow-up of families or individuals who are first-time attenders at a church function, worship service or other church activity. Caring for people’s physical needs is an important part of hospitality. This involves catering and organisation for church lunches, retreats and church and community functions. Hospitality also includes ministry to community members during times of family crisis. This may be through the provision of food and friendship during a family crisis, a card and gift on special occasions such as the birth of a child, or a warm welcome to the community to those who have recently moved into Rouse Hill and surrounding suburbs. Marketing Ministry Team The Marketing Ministry Team provides recommendations in regard to the feasibility of proposed ministry initiatives and is also responsible for the promotion and advertising of all activities and ministries. The Marketing Team is responsible for the development and maintenance of the web-site, newsletters and the development of newspaper ads, editorials, and media releases. Physical Resources Ministry TeamThe MECC physical environment reflects the relational and spiritual environment of the church. Therefore, MECC is committed to the provision of functional, well-maintained and clean facilities and equipment. This ministry team has overall responsibility for equipment selection, purchase and maintenance, as well as developing and implementing systems to enable the use of the facilities by members and other community groups. This team may also recommend and manage capital improvements and equipment purchases. The team also has responsibility for the regular cleaning of the facilities, maintaining the grounds and ensuring there are adequate supplies (eg. toilets and kitchen). Preparation for worship, meetings and community activities includes ensuring the availability of chairs and other items of equipment as required, and that all equipment items are in good repair. Worship Ministry TeamThe Worship Ministry Team has the overall co-ordinating responsibility for the weekly worship event and will meet for the purpose of setting the direction and tone for worship, rosters for involvement and assessment.
