The People
The members of Mile End Community Church (MECC) are committed
to developing a relationship with Jesus Christ and discovering
and applying the values and principles He taught. These values
and principles have enabled us to develop a better more meaningful
lifestyle that we want to share with others in relevant ways.
Connecting with each other and supporting each other are a
core part of what church is about. We meet together during
the week in small groups to support each other and encourage
personal and spiritual growth. These cell groups are the building
blocks of our church. MECC is also a member of the worldwide
community of Seventh-day Adventist churches. As part of this
Christian denomination, we have a strong focus on lifestyle
and promote values that enhance our quality of life.
The Purpose
Mile End Community Church exists to build a Spirit-filled
Christian community that supports people, builds relationships
and grows communities. We believe community is valuable and
actively support the development of our community. As a result,
our approach to activities is relevant and meaningful. This
is experienced at MECC through lively, contemporary worship,
a focus on learning, self development and growth, a practical
response to expressed community needs, and a fellowship environment
that is open and accepting to all people.
The Place
MECC is a community in itself but it is also a part of the
broader north-west Sydney community. Our facilities are designed
to be utilised by a variety of community services and groups.
They provide a place where families gather for worship, social
functions, education classes and other community activities
during the week. It is anticipated that future development
will include a childcare centre, indoor sports and recreation
facilities, café and Christian bookshop, community
space, worship centre, youth space and more. The Priority
MECC is enthusiastic about developing and building a sustainable
community. This is achieved by providing opportunities for
people to achieve social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual
health. We are committed to offering opportunities for you
to grow in these areas of your life.
