Background
Mile End Community Church (MECC) is a Christian church, and a member of the worldwide community of Seventh-day Adventist Churches. It has been established with a vision to share Jesus Christ with the community. Through ministries and services relevant to community need, MECC’s commitment to the biblical message of the Adventist church is the basis for its practical application of the Christian Gospel (Good News) to the lives of ordinary people and the challenges they face in the 21st Century.
On 11th January, 2003, 21 adults and 8 children met for the first Sabbath (Saturday) morning service and moved into temporary church facilities on 5th April, 2003. New faces are seen at church on most Sabbaths for worship. More importantly people are coming to know Jesus Christ, primarily as a result of the personal testimony of members through the Cell Group ministry. Regular worship, children’s activities and community ministries all make a significant contribution to the ability of the church to connect in a meaningful way with members of the community.
God has blessed this church and its members’ honour Him as the one who has given the vision and made it all possible.
